Print A, 706 Perfect Pink B, 321 Gold C, and 313 Aran D.
Crochet Hooks: 4mm [US G-6] and 6mm [US J-10].
Yarn needle; two 12mm buttons for eyes.

Gauge: 12 rounds = 4”; 12 sts = 4” in sc with larger hook
and 2 strands held together. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use
any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Special Abbreviation
dec (decrease) = draw up a loop in next 2 sts, yarn over
and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

BAG
Round 1: With 2 strands of A held together and larger
hook, ch 12; sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 9 ch, 3 sc
in last ch, working in remaining loops on opposite side of
ch, sc in next 9 loops, 2 sc in last loop; do not join but work
in continuous rounds – 24 sc.
Round 2: 2 Sc in first sc, sc in next 9 sc, [2 sc in next sc] 3
times, sc in next 9 sc, [2 sc in next sc] twice – 30 sc.
Round 3: [Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times – 36 sc.
Round 4: [Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times – 42 sc.
Rounds 5-20: Sc in each sc around. Fasten off.

Strap
With 2 strands of A held together and larger hook, ch 66.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across; turn –

Wing (Make 2)
Row 1: With 1 strand of A and smaller hook, ch 2; 5 sc in
2nd ch from hook; turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc across; turn – 10 sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first 3 sc, [2 sc in next sc] 4 times, sc in
last 3 sc; turn – 14 sc.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, sc in first 5 sc, [2 sc in next sc] 4 times, sc in
last 5 sc; turn – 18 sc.
Row 6: Ch 1, skip first sc, 3 hdc in next sc, [skip next sc,
3 hdc in next sc] 8 times. Fasten off. Sew in place on each
side of bag as pictured.

Eye (Make 2)
Round 1: With 1 strand of A and smaller hook, ch 2; 6 sc
in 2nd ch from hook; do not join but work in continuous
rounds.
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc.
Round 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times – 18 sc.
Round 4: [Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times – 24 sc.
Round 5: [Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times – 30 sc.
Fasten off.
Round 6: Join B in any sc with a slip st; 3 sc in next sc,
[slip st in next sc, 3 sc in next sc] 14 times, slip st in first
slip st. Fasten off. Sew button to center of eye.

“White” of Eye
With 1 strand of D and smaller hook, ch 13; 3 hdc in 2nd
ch from hook, [ch 1, slip st in next ch, ch 1, 3 hdc in next
ch] 5 times, slip st in last ch. Fasten off. Sew in a circle
around button. Sew eyes in place.

Beak
Round 1: With 1 strand of C and smaller hook, ch 2; 6 sc
in 2nd ch from hook; do not join but work in continuous
rounds.
Round 2: [Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] twice – 8 sc.
Round 3: Sc in each sc around.
Round 4: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 4 times – 12 sc.
Rounds 5-7: Sc in each sc around.
Round 8: [Sc in next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sc] twice – 8
sc. Fasten off. Insert a very small amount of stuffing. Sew
Round 8 flat and sew in place.

Heart
With 1 strand of D and smaller hook; ch 2.
Rounds 1-4: Repeat Rounds 1-4 of eye – 24 sc.
Round 5: Slip st in next sc, ch 1, (hdc, dc) in next sc, [2 dc
in next sc] twice, (dc, hdc) in next sc, sc in next 6 sc, 3 sc
in next sc, sc in next 6 sc, (hdc, dc) in next sc, [2 dc in next
sc] twice, (dc, hdc) in next sc, ch 1; slip st in first slip st.
Fasten off. Sew in place.
